Gas Cylinder Booking: 45-Day & 25-Day Lock, How To Track Your LPG Delivery Status?

The biggest change is the 45-day and 25-days lock-in period for refilling LPG cylinders; however, this depends upon Indian households locations. In the latest update, the ministry has encouraged commercial LPG consumers in urban areas to switch to PNG, while the ministry has barred PNG customers from opting for new LPG connections.

LPG Cylinder Booking Amidst Shortage:

“LPG supply continues to be monitored in view of the prevailing geopolitical situation,” said the ministry on March 17. The data of ministry revealed that there are no dry-outs reported at LPG distributorships, while domestic LPG production surged by approximately 38% and online bookings for LPG rose by a whopping 94%.

Also, the delivery authentication code coverage expended from 53% before the crisis to about 76% to prevent diversion. The ministry reiterated that “Domestic LPG cylinder deliveries continue as normal.” It added, “Several States and UTs such as Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand have issued orders for allocation of non-domestic LPG in line with Government guidelines, and commercial LPG supply is being made available across States and UTs.”

LPG Cylinder Booking 45-Days Rule:

To tackle hoarding and black marketing of LPG across the country, the government modified the lock-in period for LPG refill. Before LPG crisis, the lock-in period to order for gas cylinder was 21 days. But now, there are two types of lock-in period and the longest is of 45 days. The 45-days lock-in period is meant for rural householders to ensure equitable distribution. Hence, if you reside in rural areas of the country, you can only book for another LPG after 45 days from the date of buying the current LPG.

How To Track Your LPG Refill Delivery?

  • Step 1: You can open the mobile application of Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas, depending upon which LPG you are using. Or you can visit their official website.
  • Step 2: Either website or mobile app, you will be required to login using your registered mobile number or LPG ID.
  • Step 3: Select the refill cylinder option to book. Then confirm your booking details before submitting for the order request.
  • Step 4: Once your booking is placed, you will receive a confirmation message which will have the booking number.
  • Step 5: Use the booking number to track your delivery status on the apps or the website.
  • Step 6: After from this, you will also get updates of your delivery through notifications and SMS on your registered mobile number.
  • Step 7: Following this, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on registered number for verification during the day of the delivery. The OTP is important as the delivery agent will require the code for verification to ensure you are the right customer, reduce chances of errors and transparency. After verifying, you will get the handover of the LPG cylinder.
